The cost of a garage floor coating depends on garage size, whether your slab needs a moisture vapor barrier, the condition of the concrete and extras like stem walls or steps. Use the estimator above for an instant range. Ozark Ridge confirms your exact price in writing after a free on-site measure and moisture test.
What affects the cost of a garage floor coating
1. Garage size
Floor coatings are priced by the square foot, so size is the biggest factor. Here are typical sizes:
| Garage | Typical size | About |
|---|---|---|
| 1-car | 12 × 20 to 14 × 22 ft | 250 sq ft |
| 2-car | 20 × 20 to 24 × 24 ft | 450 sq ft |
| 3-car | 30 × 20 to 32 × 24 ft | 650 sq ft |
2. Floor system
Because of the humid Ozarks climate, we recommend our polyaspartic system with a moisture vapor barrier base coat for most garages. Damp slabs are common here. It costs more per square foot than the standard polyaspartic system, and our moisture test at the estimate tells you whether your slab needs it. We also install an epoxy flake system, which costs less per square foot but takes longer to cure. Compare polyaspartic and epoxy. The estimator shows all three options.
3. Concrete condition
Every slab is diamond-ground. Cracks, pits, spalling and old coatings add repair or removal time and material. You'll pick the condition that's closest to yours, and we confirm it in person.
4. Extras
Coating the stem walls (the short concrete curb along the bottom of the walls) and matching entry steps add a seamless finished look for a flat add-on price. Garage storage and garage doors are quoted separately on-site.
5. Minimum project charge
Small floors still need the same equipment, materials and crew, so a minimum project charge applies. The estimator includes it automatically.
Is a garage floor coating worth it?
Bare concrete stains, dusts and slowly breaks down from water, salt and oil. A sealed polyaspartic floor stops that, cleans with a mop and makes the garage feel like part of the house. Compared with a DIY kit, a professional floor costs more up front, but it starts with grinding, repairs and moisture testing, which is what keeps a coating from peeling.
